Republican Representative Jack Kingston (GA) and 29 Republican co-sponsors filed legislation that would force Obama to actually be accountable by vetting his Czars. This is probably one of the most needed pieces of legislation that we will see in our lifetimes. Obama has a list of 34 Czars – some ‘positions’ that still need to be filled but of that number 27 have not been vetted by Congress. In 6 months Obama has taken it upon himself to bypass Congress and the American people by appointing his very own ‘shadow government’. The Czars report directly to him and are not held accountable to Congress; therefore, not held accountable to the American people – who pay their salaries.
From the United States Constitution - Article II, Section 2:
“[The President] shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court, and all other officers of the United States, whose appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by law: but the Congress may by law vest the appointment of such inferior officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the courts of law, or in the heads of departments.”
This clearly states that what Obama is doing by appointing Czars left and right is a violation of the Constitution. I realize that Obama doesn’t seem to think much of our Constitution but we, the people, DO. The only government officials who can make policy are the members of Congress who WE nominate. The ‘Pay Czar’ cannot tell anyone what their salaries or bonuses will be limited to, it has to be legislated by Congress. Yet Obama seems to think that his Czars can do whatever they want and most people probably don’t understand that his ‘Yes we can’ is really our “Hell no you can’t”. Finally someone is standing up for us against Obama’s outrageous appointments.
I am currently researching Obama’s ‘Shadow government’ appointees and so far I am finding that some of these people are clearly radicals like Obama. There is at least one Socialist (Carol Browner), a fellow ACORN organizer (Adolfo Carrion Jr.), a complete nut job who wrote a book about sterilizing people to quash the growing population (John Holdgren) and his latest appointment Cass Sustein who believes that animals should have the same rights as people, including bringing lawsuits against people. These Czars are clearly not representative of America or Americans. They should not be anywhere NEAR the White House or Capitol Hill other than to attend one of Obama’s Wednesday night soirees.
Presidents in the past have had Czars but they usually act as advisors and do not make policy. Obama has specifically appointed these people to make policy. The most Czars in any administration was during George Bush’s reign who appointed 14 Czars in 8 years. Obama has appointed twice the amount of Czars in 6 months as Czarist Russia had in 300 years! As Kingston points out on his website: “At this rate, we will have: 272 czars in Obama’s fist term (48 months) 544 czars if he lasts two terms (96 months)”. This is obviously Obama’s attempt to bypass Congress to further push his radical agenda by appointing radicals to make policy.
We all must push for this Act to be brought to a vote and passed. This is for our present and our future. We cannot let the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee sit on this. After reviewing some of the representatives who are on the Committee, it is clear that this may be a battle as it is filled with partisan party-line-voting Democrats -Tierney, Maloney, Kennedy, Kucinich - are some examples. Email, call, write, fax every member of the Committee to let it be known that WE, THE PEOPLE, are aware of the Act and fully support it. The Republicans have brought this Act forward, it is now up to us to tell Obama “Hell no you can’t”.

CAP & TRADE CALL TO ACTION
You MUST call your Senators about the Cap & Trade bill that is in Congress right now. The ramifications of this bill on Americans and Businesses will overwhelmingly tax the hell out of us in more ways than one:
1. Our electric bills will rise to costs between $700 - $3,100 per year.
2. Businesses will see an even bigger rise in their electric bills.
3. When businesses see a bigger electric bill that cost will be added into the price of all consumer goods that we purchase. EVERYTHING WE BUY will be up to twice as expensive.
4. This could potentially cause job losses as businesses will have to cut somewhere and they won’t be able to cut these costs – think about factories, machine shops, the very automakers that we now own.
5. College tuition will go up even more because their electric bills will double also.
6. Public schools will have to pay more in electricity, which means higher taxes at a state level.
7. Cable companies will have to pay more – and we will pay the costs.
8. Grocery stores will be paying more in electricity which means WE will be paying even more for food.
9. Rents will go up if electricity is included. People are already having a hard times paying their rent – what will happen when their rent is increased even more?
10. Phone companies, restaurants, the Post Office, local government, pet stores, convenience stores, museums, ballparks… it affects EVERY SINGLE PERSON AND BUSINESS IN THIS COUNTRY!
The above doesn’t even include the increase in gas prices which will add ANOTHER whammy of taxes that will be paid directly by consumers and then again indirectly by businesses passing on the costs to consumer goods.
WE ARE THE ONLY COUNTRY TRYING TO SAVE THE ‘ATMOSPHERE’. No other countries are on board with this – how much of the atmosphere are WE alone really going to save????
Americans are being punished for an ideology that has not yet been proven. We are already in dire straights as a country – millions of people losing their jobs, not being able to pay their mortgages, their rent, provide food for their families and Obama wants to add THIS TAX BURDEN TO US???
This affects ALL AMERICANS, not just tax payers. The single Mom who can barely make ends meet for her family. The college kids who are already over stretched with student loans. The middle class family of four whose parents work hard and are trying to save for their kids’ college tuition. The poor welfare mother who hit hard times and just needs temporary help will never be able to climb her way off of the welfare roles.
Any of you who have Senators who are DEMOCRATS need to call, call, fax, email, write over and over again to GET THE POINT ACROSS THAT THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!! No Republicans are going to vote for this insanity and some Democrats seem to have found a brain cell or two and are realizing voting for this would jeopardize their re-election and yeah maybe some of them actually care about their constituents. THESE are the ones that need to be targeted.

FOREIGN IMPORTERS will not be affected by this. So THEIR prices will remain lower. Businesses in this country will be put OUT of business because they will NOT be able to compete. They are already struggling in this country and fleeing. This will force MORE businesses to flee.. more jobs to be lost... the economy will delve further into the nether regions!!!!!!
The bill itself is known as H.R. 1586 - The AIG Key Executives Bonus Accountability and Capture (TAKE BACK) Act. The Act itself calls for taxing bonuses that were given after January 1st on specific companies who were given TARP money by the federal government – aka – U.S. Taxpayers. This act that the House of Representatives just voted into law is in direct violation of the United States Constitution – Article 1 – Section 9 specifically states: "No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed. Ex post facto is defined as formulated, enacted, or operating retroactively. In the context of the Constitution, a Bill of Attainder is meant to mean a bill that has a negative effect on a single person or group.” The $165 million retention bonuses that were given to certain AIG Executives fall into both of these categories.
It was the members of Congress and the President who signed the stimulus bill into LAW that had a specific clause allowing the bonuses to be given. Now they want to feign anger and outrage at the very bonuses THEY allowed? Not only was it a bad idea to vote the stimulus in the first place but then to pretend they are outraged because the people of the United States are outraged is absolutely an ‘ACT’. Most people in the country do not realize this violation of the Constitution. While the bonuses are outrageous, the violation of our Constitution should cause MORE outrage than bonuses totaling approximately 1% of the bailout money given to AIG.
This proves a few things – neither the members of Congress who voted for the stimulus bill NOR the President – actually read the bill. Something most of us already knew but their tomfoolery is proving the point. It also proves the complete hypocrisy of both groups because they are outraged by the bonuses but NOT by their OWN behavior for allowing the bonuses to be given. It also shows that neither Congress NOR the President actually take the Constitution of the United States of America seriously. Violating the Constitution is nothing to take lightly or to joke about.
It is simple to see that all of the outrage and anger occurring on Capitol Hill is literally and figuratively an ‘ACT’. A great show put on by Congress and the President to pretend they actually care about the people of this great country. People need to understand that it is Congress and the President who were actors in the great AIG bonus ‘giveaway’. The H.R. 1586 is just another scene from their political pandering play but one that could open doors for more Constitutional violations and abuses in the future.
Well we just got the porkulous bill shoved down our throats without being able to thoroughly investigate (Congress didn’t even have the chance never mind the simple people like us who are PAYING for it). A week later we see the Porknibus Bill in the House – actually called the Omnibus bill - 410 billion MORE of our taxpayer dollars being spent. The bills are part of the 2009 appropriations bill that had not been made into law due to the disagreement between Congress and President Bush.
There is plenty of pork in the bill by both Democrats and Republicans – 40% Republican and 60% Democrat. There is an estimated $7.7 billion in pure PORK in the bill. That is 7,700,000,000 people… not million but billion! And WE get to pay for it all! What is amazing is that $7.7 billion doesn’t even seem like a lot with all the billions that Congress and Obama are throwing around lately. Since we do not have money to pay for ANYTHING extraordinary at the moment, how in the hell do they justify some of the outrageous spending in this bill?? They can’t and they won’t, just like they didn’t with the porkulous package.
I watched Obama’s speech on Tuesday and correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure I heard the words ‘FREE of earmarks’ come out of his mouth. The same words he uttered during the election. The same words he stated when talking up his non-stimulus package. Does he not see the pork or does he think that WE won’t see the pork.
Here are just a few examples of what we are going to be paying for with OUR hard-earned tax dollars this year:
$500,000 for a fruit fly rearing facility in HI
Seriously people – FRUIT FLY rearing??? We are paying for fruit flies to have sex?
$1,117,000 for grasshopper and Mormon cricket activities in the State of Utah
I didn’t know crickets had religion.
$472,000 for beaver management and control in the State of Mississippi
Angry Beavers?
$450,000 for incumbent worker training for United Auto Workers Region 9, Local 624 New York
With all the Union dues these guys pay, why can’t the UAW PAY for training??
$111,000 for the study of Armillaria Root Rot
Anyone??? Anyone??
$196,000 for the study of livestock waste
Now I know we are in deep sh*t!
$184,000 for Asparagus technology and production
Asparagus technology?? I didn’t know asparagus was high tech.
$165,000 Maple Research – VT
It tastes good and comes from trees – what is to study?
$750,000 Potato Research – several states
The potato has been around for a really long time – shouldn’t we know all about it already??
$4,841,000 Research for Wood Utilization – several states
Build with it, burn it - now give me my millions.
$118,000 Cranberry/Blueberry Research – MA
$184,000 Lowbush wild blueberry research – ME
$450,000 Cranberry/Blueberry disease & breeding – NJ
Is there a mad rush on cranberries and blueberries in the grocery stores?
$22,000,000 to add an addition to the JFK Presidential library and museum – MA
Gotta love this one – and in my home state no less. If you can’t get private donations, DON’T BUILD IT. Let the Kennedy family add the addition – they can name it after Mary Jo Kopechne.
These are just a few that I hand picked after looking at all of the earmarks and appropriations for hours. There ARE what I would consider honorable earmarks such as money for homeless shelters, domestic violence and education. The problem is that we cannot afford ANY earmarks. We don’t have any money!!!!!!! While I added a bit of humor, this isn’t funny. Congress has been pork laden for too many years. The taxpayers have been over burdened with pork fat for too many years. Obama promised CHANGE and he had the chance to follow through on that promise and didn't. He has the chance again with this bill. I wonder what the odds are that he will actually veto ANY of this pork.
